DataEngine ADL in practice
Blast furnace control
To support the blast furnace control in steel industry Dango&Dienenthal
Maschinenbau GmbH (Germany) offers a system for computer-based
analysis to probe data. The offline-analysis was realized with fuzzy
clustering and neural networks from DataEngine. For the
online-integration DataEngine ADL was used.
Classification of traffic states
Heusch/Boesefeldt GmbH, a subsidiary of Daimler Benz, developed
an online-system for the automatic network control on highways. One
module of the complete system is a fuzzy rule base that classifies
traffic states. This was created with DataEngine. The application runs
on Motorola workstations under Unix System V.
Decision support
Volkswagen AG developed a system called SurFy which supports the
choice of vehicles. This software, which is implemented in MS Visual
Basic®, assists clients in the choice of which car fits them best.
The suggestions result from using a fuzzy rule base. This was created
with DataEngine and integrated into SurFy with DataEngine ADL. A
transfer to similar applications seems to be very efficient.
